    Love this place so much. I have been meaning to visit for over a decade and finally went with a few family members who were visiting town. A word of advice: do not treat this like a standard museum experience. Go with a totally open mind. I read the negative reviews (after visiting the museum), and all I can think is that those visitors had an agenda or expectations for something more traditional. It IS cramped in some rooms, and it is dark throughout, so if those things are not your cup of tea, you may not enjoy yourself.

    This place is extraordinary. It's a museum about museums-- about our collective need to record and save things from the past and how strange and unsettling those things can be on display, taken out of their original context. it's really hard to tell sometimes what you're looking at in this place-- and makes you wonder whether the exhibits are an elaborate ruse or completely authentic. I think the truth falls somewhere in between. This place is not for everyone, and has a decidedly academic, cerebral quality that makes it highly unique to this city. it's very quirky and ambiguous. beneath the surface of the interesting items in the collection, this museum points to something else: the unsettling truth that while we take great pains to preserve and maintain items and artworks we deem historically or culturally important, inevitably that process is flawed and perhaps even futile. existential, intellectual, humorous. spooky and memorable.

    Talk about unusual! Wow! Take your time, set aside a few hours to take it all in. Educational. See things you never even imagined existed. Learn about beliefs, myths, and customs from day gone by. Gotta go at least once in your life!

    I love this place. It is a museum created after the concept of a cabinet of curiosities. It is right on Venice Blvd and yet a world away from Los Angeles. It smells weird, some of the exhibits are not kept up as well as they could be. It's a strange assortment of things. But it's also made to make you pause and look at things differently. I appreciate that cell phone use is forbidden you are simply meant to take in the experience not document it. The name Jurassic Technology is an oxymoron but also refers to a concept of knowledge having been something humans discovered instead of created. The museums exhibits are meant to provoke epistemological questions and curiosity. It's a weird, niche place, but I always enjoy it. After the dark exhibits you go upstairs to an aviary of doves and zebra finches where you can have complimentary tea and cookies- delightful.
